Serving East Anglia, Daniel presents a traditional Punch and Judy show filled with all the usual fun and laughter this British institution has given us for over 350 years.
This classic show includes all the usual characters including Punch, Judy, Joey the Clown, PC Smellypants, the Devil and who couldn't forget the snappy crocodile.
Whether it's a single show or a series throughout the day, we will cater for whatever requirements you may need. Indoors or outdoors this fully contained show with its own amplification comes in the form of beautifully decorated traditional red and white striped booth that will be an instant draw at any event.
Before the show the audience is entertained with magic, games and audience participation getting them ready to scream at the sausage stealing crocodile and booing the baddies.
Available for fetes, birthday parties, schools, weddings, carnivals, or any public event any time of the year.
In 2019 Daniel brought Punch and Judy back to the beach at Gorleston-on-Sea after an absence of over 30 years. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more exciting news for 2021.
CROMER & SHERINGHAM BRASS BAND
Cromer & Sheringham Silver Band was formed by the amalgamation of the Sheringham Band and the Cromer Band in 1956 under the directorship of Mr Henry Grice.
Sheringham Band had started life as Sheringham Temperance Band in the early 1930s by Mr Henry Grice and the Cromer Band evolved from a boy’s band in the late 1940s. Cromer Boys’ Band was started by the local TOC-H with Mr Henry Bishop as it’s Bandmaster/Conductor.
Henry continued as Bandmaster and conductor of the Band until he retired at the age of 82. When he passed away in 1995 at the age of 82, the Band joined with the Sheringham Salvation Army Band to play at his funeral.
Cromer & Sheringham Silver Band were eventually renamed as Cromer & Sheringham Brass but they received so many enquires regarding the metal ‘brass’ that the word ‘Band’ was added.
The current Musical Director was appointed in July 2009, having played with the band from the age of 11 and is just one of several local family ‘units’ within the band.
Cromer & Sheringham Brass Band perform regularly throughout the year, with the Summer and Christmas periods being busy. St Peter’s Church, Sheringham is a favourite concert venue, where the band normally perform at least 3 times a year, including the annual Carnival concert. Of course, we also perform annually, The Last Night of the Proms at Sheringham Little Theatre at the end of September.
The Band is made up entirely of amateur musicians from various walks of life, all living locally. We are a community band and welcome members of all standards. Several players have returned to the area in their ‘twilight’ years and have returned to brass playing, or even start learning from scratch. The Band can help anybody wishing to learn and have a stock instruments available to loan.
The Band have had several former members continue their musical studies in various bands of the armed forces, along side music colleges.
Cromer & Sheringham Band would like to thank Gabriel Askew, a former principle cornet for producing this video clip.
The Band rehearses at Upper Sheringham Village Hall on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm.
Any enquires concerning the Band should be made to Mrs Jane Bussey, Musical Director, 01263 821013 busseyjane@btinternet.com Please check the Band’s web site www.cromerandsheringhambrassband.comis kept updated and you can follow us on facebook.
We hope that we will see all our supporters back in 2021.
